Events and Workshops

When it comes to our clients, we strive to provide the most knowledgeable experiences we possibly can. At Body First, we do not want our clients to simply come to workout or checkout. Instead, we want you to leave with a greater understanding of your own body. Our Pilates instructors and massage therapists want you to have the confidence and the education to explain exactly what your body is experiencing at any given moment. The more knowledge you have, the more capable you are of taking your healing into your own hands.

At Body First, we strive to provide as many workshops and events as possible throughout the year to not only increase your education, but to also have a little fun along the way.

OPENING DAY!

Description: Join us for our Very First Day, Sunday April 5! 

 

We begin the day with our very first Mat Pilates class at 9am followed by our Pilates Plus class at 10:30am!  

 

Join us from 12pm-3pm to tour our space, get a free chair massage, sign up for classes, and grab exclusive day-of discounts! We'll be raffling off free mat pilates classes, free equipment classes, a free 60-minute massage, and more!

CALLING ALL ARTISTS

Description: Body First believes that art feeds the soul. It is our hope to bring a big city feel to our small town of Hereford. As such, we have an artist - in - residence program that allows artists of all kinds to showcase their work for three months at a time.

 

In addition to an opening night gala, artists will be able to sell their work at any time during their installation. We will also keep your contact info on file should patrons wish to reach out to you in the future.

Description: Not sure what an imprint is? Curious as to why tabletop is actually a killer exercise? Unsure as to whether or not you're actually doing things correctly? We get it. There is so much to think about in Pilates it can almost give you a headache.

Whether you've been practicing Pilates for decades or you are brand new, this workshop is for you. Each month, we take an entire class to talk about the very things that define Pilates.

In this workshop, we break down the following:

 

How To Breathe

The Difference Between Imprint and Neutral

How To Properly Engage Your Abdominals

How To Stabilize Your Shoulder Blades

How To Safely Mobilize The Head and Neck

We'll practice these five basic skills in a series of exercises you will find in every single one of our classes. With this knowledge, you will truly never look at or practice Pilates the same way again.

INTRO TO PILATES

What: Intro To Pilates 

When: Saturday, May 10, 2020 at 12:00pm-2:00pm

Description: This workshop addresses the basics of Pilates and then applies those principles to movements found both on the mat and on equipment. It provides clients with a solid foundation to step into any Pilates class confidently. 

 

Whether you're an avid practitioner or are brand new to Pilates, this workshop is for you.

What: Opening Day At Body First!

Description: Join us for our 90-minute Shoulder Pain Relief Workshop.

 

We will discuss common injuries, give you tools and tips to help stabilize the shoulder and shoulder joint, and ways to prevent further injuries.

 

You'll receive a printable worksheet with exercises and stretches that you can follow along with during the workshop itself. Space is limited so reserve your spot now!

What: Shoulder Pain Relief Workshop

When: Saturday May 23rd at12:00pm-1:30pm EST

Cost: $35

Description: To prevent injury, a solid athletic foundation is of the utmost importance. Athletes of all ages have found their seasons cut short, forcing them to find innovative ways to continue staying in shape while quarantining. Many have turned to youtube or Instagram to find their fitness inspiration. While helpful, these online programs lack the guidance and expertise needed in order to keep your teens focused and injury-free.

 

With the right guidance, at-home cross training can be extremely beneficial for teen athletes. Cross-training is an essential tool to not only improve speed and stamina, but to also increase muscular conditioning that would otherwise be impossible during the regular season.

 

This 4-week or 6-week program provides LIVE, in-person, training where teens can ask questions, get feedback, and receive corrections in real time. Each class will vary its focus between aerobic conditioning, strength work, flexibility, stabilization, and balance to keep things fun, fresh, and exciting for our teens. Class size is limited to 6 participants to ensure that each teen receives proper one-on-one instruction.

 

This program is ideal for gymnasts, dancers, basketball players, football players, soccer players, and tennis players ages 14-18.

Description: Have limited time? Get the most out of each workout with our newest series, COMBO BOOTCAMP. We have combined the best of Pilates, Strength training, and Cardio all into one calorie torching class. 

 

Join us twice a week for an hour of heart pumping fun. Each class, we'll focus on increasing our muscle tone, cardio endurance, and overall stability. 

 

As always, we provide multiple modifications to accommodate those of all fitness levels and abilities.
